Roy has more than 60 years worth of experience working with wood. Inspired by the beauty and flowing lines of the mountains, streams, and forests, Roy enjoys designing and creating unique furniture using quilted, curly, and wormy or stained native woods such as cherry, maple, oak, chestnut and walnut.
His furniture, including tables, chests, cabinets and bookcases, is sculptural, yet completely functional. The curves and arches in the designs bring the natural world into the home.
Roy frequently consults with his wife Trudy, a former interior decorator, and now a fiber artist, on color coordination, blending of woods and size and height of tables and chests.

All the woods used in the furniture are found within 100 miles of Waynesville North Caroline.
Roy uses a combination of re-claimed wood from barns and homes that have been disassembled; found wood that has been logged decades ago and left abandoned in barns, cellers and old workshops.
In combination with new wood that contain unique characteristics.
Resulting in a finished product more resembling a piece of art than a piece of furniture.
Each piece is lovingly hand crafted by the artist using unique forms and processes, ensuring that each piece is of the highest quality.
Some of our hand and power tools are over 50 years old. Our continued use of these tools is a testament to their quality and our commitment to time tested construction techniques.
